Plan for GLOSCAT at Llanthony, Gloucester DocksPlans Approved
Plans for a new campus, designed by Atkins Walters & Webster, were approved by Gloucester city planning committee on 7 Sep 2004. The picture shows the view from the docks of the four-storey block of teaching rooms along the canal frontage at the northern end of Llanthony Quay. The plans also include a large Technology Block at the west end of the site between Mecelec and the 125 Business Park, and linking this to the first block, a range of two-storey buildings to the north of the ruins of Llanthony Priory barn. The cost of the original design proved to be higher than the fixed budget available, and revised plans were approved on 2 Aug 2005.

Progress
Groundwork started in Oct 2005. The picture shows the exterior of the canal-side building completed in May 2007. The new campus was formally handed over to the College authorities on 23 June 2007 and was ready to receive students in September 2007.
